We started the visit at Rocket Espresso obviously… with an espresso made on one of the business coffee machines that Rocket-Espresso has on display at the entrance. Together with Italian brioche’s this was a great start for the company tour.
Andrew, a former coffee roaster and restaurant owner from new Zealand spoke to us about how he bought in 2007 the rights to produce the consumer coffee machine from the previous owner.
Rocket espresso was in dire straits but Andrew and his business partner saw a great opportunity to transform an ailing Italian espresso company into a global brand that is recognized as one of the best coffee machine makers in the world.
How did he manage to do this? Savvy marketing, in house production, focus on customer service and a very transparent way of doing business which allows his company to operate fast on market changes.
